Dear Refugees - International Rescue Committee

Anthem (2:00)

New York, 2019

Did you know that Einstein was a refugee? When Hitler rose to power in 1922, Nazis burned his property and pushed him out of Germany. He and his wife resettled in New Jersey, but found there were few legal and cultural resources for new Americans. He immediately convened a group of 50 leaders to help rescue people in crisis around the world. Today, that group is now the International Rescue Committee, one of the world's leading migrant and refugee advocacy organizations.

It's hard to imagine a world without Einstein's contributions if he hadn't escaped the Nazis. But he is just one of so many cultural icons who have changed our society for the better.

In our campaign with Big Spaceship for World Refugee Day, we ask that impossible question directly to famous refugees - what would our world be like without your contributions?

Our campaign launched on June 22, 2019, International Refugee Day, including the core anthem, three 1 minute videos featuring just the celebrity appearances of Lena Headey, Mandy Patankin, and Keegan Michael-Key, and several shorter cuts for YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram in the US, UK and Germany.

In the first two months of the campaign, the work has received hundreds of thousands of online views and overwhelming positive recognition, and is regarded by the IRC as their “most successful video campaign ever” - much to the credit of Big Spaceship.
